Its been all go around here at ShearWarmth HQ, we launched our new website, we’re learning to use our new website (us and technology is always fun)! Our lovely Merlot blanket is back in stock. Our big news is that ShearWarmth was one of the top 5 finalists for the New Zealand SheEO awards 2018, which is an absolute honor and privilege. But with that came a lot of hard work, don’t get us wrong, very enjoyable work, but hard. Lyn attended a boot camp/workshop with the other finalist in Auckland for a long week end to promote our business, to learn more on how to grow and push our business in the right direction and to take ShearWarmth to the next level. This was the first time ever SheEO has run this event in New Zealand, it is a massive deal in United States and Canada. We are super excited to be working alongside these amazing influential women!
It is June and in New Zealand that means it is the Mystery Creek Field days held in Hamilton. A big day out for ‘the farmers’, all things farming and lifestyle related are on display and for sale, It’s almost like a massive EXPO situation. Lyn attended the Field days this year with a few blankets in tow and was set up in the Rural Woman’s site, one of the many organizations Lyn is a part of. We really do love all these opportunity’s where we get to work with others and any chance we get to show case our beautiful blankets is a bonus.
As the winter is starting to kick in, in full force down here in Tokirima ‘The Farmer’ decided it was best to cover comb shear the flock of sheep (meaning a number 3 buzz cut with a few mm of wool left on instead of a number zero). We don’t want our girls getting to cold! Next job up is scanning….every sheep (only a mere 4000) get brought back to the yards to be scanned. Just the same as any new mother, she gets an ultrasound on her belly and that tells us how many lambs she has growing inside. More lambs equal more wool equals more fantastic blankets. Tuck in warm for the winter team and we will talk again next month.
Cheers Lyn and Monique
